Overview

TeamRetro pairs structured retrospectives with longitudinal team health checks and planning-poker estimations, aimed at agile organisations running multiple teams under a coach or programme. An in-meeting AI assistant (trAI, still in beta) and a GA MCP server are included on every paid plan.

Best for: Agile coaches and engineering managers running ongoing health-check programmes alongside sprint retros.

How TeamRetro describes itself

TeamRetro sells consolidation, not a single ceremony. The target buyer is a Scrum Master, agile coach or engineering manager running several teams, and the plans are priced per team rather than per seat.

Four modules share one subscription: retrospectives, health checks, planning-poker estimation and, new as of October 2026, async daily standups. The pitch leans hard on AI: trAI inside the meeting, an MCP server outside it. The plan table does the rest: SSO and US-or-EU hosting on every plan, 279 templates, "60,000+ agile teams". Copy written for procurement as much as for the facilitator running Thursday's retro.

Our take

The real differentiator is health checks built as a module, not a survey bolted onto a retro board: custom dimensions, maturity models, radar charts and trend lines across sprints. Retro facilitation is complete rather than clever: 279 templates, anonymity, hidden-until-next-step brainstorming, AI grouping, private voting, timed phases, action carryover, team agreements and ROTI. The platform is open, with a GA MCP server, team-level API keys and signed webhooks on every plan. trAI drafts actions from top-voted ideas and compares a session with the last one, but it is still labelled beta. Eighteen in-meeting icebreaker games blunt the old complaint that this tool was all business.

Read the Enterprise column before signing. SCIM, IP allowlisting, guest and observer roles and every cross-team report are Enterprise-only, and so is the SOC 2 Type 2 report; lower tiers get SOC 3. Audit logs are "available on request". ISO 27001 is AWS's, not TeamRetro's; hosting is US or EU only; there is no free tier. The flow is phase-based by design; teams wanting a blank canvas will find it prescriptive.
